Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler I to join our warehouse operations team. In this entry-level role, you'll play an essential part in keeping our pallet manufacturing facility running smoothly by handling a variety of warehouse tasks including moving materials, organizing stock, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced warehouse setting where safety, teamwork, and attention to detail are valued.

Work Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: 5:00 am to 1:30 pm (Monday thru Friday)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Ensure the safe manual movement of products, pallets, or merchandise throughout the facility.
  • Review products and materials to ensure they are placed in the correct designated areas.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping debris and assisting with general warehouse sanitation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
  • Understand that reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules are subject to change to meet company needs and business requirements.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, as it is an essential function of this job.

What We're Looking For:

  • A background in manual labor or a physically demanding field like warehouse work, construction, or landscaping is preferred.
  • The physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and handle heavy materials throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift is ideal.
  • Maintaining the stamina to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the entire duration of a shift in a warehouse environment is a key part of the role.
  • We are looking for a collaborative team player who is willing to take direction and switch between tasks like cleaning or moving inventory as needed.
  • Consistent reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to showing up ready to work are highly valued.
  • A strong commitment to following all safety rules and procedures, including the consistent use of required PPE, is expected.
  • Candidates are required to be at least 18 years of age due to the presence of heavy machinery.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred for this role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Capable of repeatedly lifting and moving pallets and materials, which may be heavy.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity for inspecting pallet condition.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
  • Excellent vision (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus) for inspecting pallets and observing surroundings for safety.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
