Role Summary The Urban Outfitters DMM is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the divisional merchandising strategy, ensuring the delivery of a customer-centric product assortment that is compelling, profitable, and aligned with brand values. This role collaborates with brand partners to identify and drive year-over-year growth opportunities throughnew concepts, while also managing the core branded business. The role supports the Men's branded apparel and footwear categories, encompassing both men's and women's footwear. Role Responsibilities Responsibilities: * Strategic Planning: Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Partner with GMM on ownership of the Long Range Plan (LRP) for the Men's Branded Apparel and footwear business. * Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team that consistently meets or exceeds business targets and individuals that are ready and able to move into positions of greater responsibility. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture. * Product Assortment: Oversee the selection, assortment, and cohesion of products, ensuring they meet customer needs and reflect current fashion trends. Work closely with private label DMM and buying team to ensure no duplication across branded and owned brand assortments. * Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors. Negotiate terms, pricing, and exclusivity agreements to support business objectives. * Sales Analysis & Growth: Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify creative opportunities for growth and improvement. Adjust strategies based on market trends and customer feedback. Lead online expansion and testing opportunities by suggesting category extensions and web exclusives to drive growth. * Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock. Collaborate with the planning team to manage the Open to Buy (OTB) plan. * Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative merchandising and finance, to ensure cohesive execution of merchandising strategies. * Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to inform merchandising decisions. Stay updated on fashion trends and styles, contributing to product selection with a strong sense of style and good taste. Monitor fashion shows, industry publications, and social media to identify emerging trends and understand cultural and societal shifts influencing fashion. * Performance Ownership: Develop and manage the division's budget, ensuring financial targets are met. Generate regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends. Effectively present key information to top leaders. * Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field. * Experience: 10+ years of experience in merchandising, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within the apparel industry.
