We are expanding our digital design team and seeking a creative, fast, and passionate Thumbnail Designer to enhance our visual storytelling.

Job Overview

The Thumbnail Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and delivering high-impact thumbnails for YouTube, social media platforms, and digital news content. The ideal candidate must have a strong sense of design, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design eye-catching and click-worthy thumbnails for YouTube videos, news stories, and digital content.
  • Collaborate with the video editors, social media team, and journalists to understand the story angle and visual requirements.
  • Create consistent design templates aligned with the 4PM News brand identity.
  • Optimize thumbnails for various platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to maximize CTR (Click-Through Rate).
  • Edit and retouch photos when needed (cropping, color correction, cutouts, composites).
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, pop culture, and news visuals.
  • Maintain an organized workflow and ensure timely delivery of all creative assets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (mandatory); knowledge of Illustrator or Canva is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to create engaging, emotion-driven visuals that attract viewers.
  • Basic knowledge of news and trending topics, especially in digital journalism.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing thumbnails for YouTube channels, news, or entertainment platforms.
  • Familiarity with Hindi and English typography (advantage for regional news).
