About The Role

The RealReal is looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Seller team.

Working closely with Product partners and Engineering management, you will build technical solutions enhancing, optimizing and iterating the RealReal’s Seller Platform. You will work closely with Product and business stakeholders to help build robust scalable back-ends to empower seamless and engaging customer journeys that optimize our Seller platform effectiveness.

  • Design and Develop: Lead the architecture and development of software solutions, making strategic decisions that influence our technical direction.

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of software development experience

  • Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems

  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies

  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues

  • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of software development experience with a track record of successfully shipping consumer or business facing products

  • Strong background in Ruby on Rails or Elixir

  • Familiarity with Front-end JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Python

  • Familiarity with AWS

  • Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.

The expected salary range for this role is $172,460.00-$215,575.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
