Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota's once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation - expanding what "mobility" means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we're working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM

The AD/ADAS Project Management Team's goal is to enable the successful delivery of technology from the engineering organization to achieve business goals. The Project Management function in Woven By Toyota's (WbyT's) AD/ADAS organization is a partner to the Engineering and Product functions and owns the technical execution of the AD/ADAS portfolio maintaining the organization's plan of record and ensuring execution velocity and agility of a highly cross functional engineering team distributed across multiple locations.

Our team members come from a mix of Autonomy, off-board ecosystem, hardware and vehicle backgrounds but we all share a common drive to enable the delivery of complex and safe autonomous engineering products to the world. We are problem solvers who make things happen by setting and communicating clear goals and supporting engineering teams to deliver through the technical and organizational complexity.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Staff Project Manager for this position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, engaging with leadership, and collaborating with teams across WbyT and external stakeholders to steer projects toward successful delivery.

You should be highly motivated by the challenge of bringing complex technology projects to market and adept at solving interdisciplinary problems with a strong focus on execution. In this role, you will work with a talented group of cross-functional stakeholders across organizations to develop execution plans that facilitate the launch of products and features.

This role requires deep operational expertise in the development ecosystem in support of the autonomous driving stack and product, paired with a strong cross-functional communication, and a data-driven approach to ensure continuous improvements on engineering velocity developing the autonomy stack while optimizing performance, cost, and safety. Additionally, a genuine interest in connecting the on-board software running on vehicles with the off-board stack such as simulation, data and ML infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own and drive complex cross-functional Platform projects across simulation, validation, CI/CD, ML infrastructure, and visualization tools to provide a robust end-to-end development ecosystem, improve autonomy development efficiency, and shorten time-to-validation.
    • Define project scope, milestones, and success metrics for platform capabilities, explicitly tying them to developer productivity, iteration speed, test throughput, and safety validation timelines, and aligning outcomes with the broader autonomy roadmap.
    • Create and maintain an integrated project plan of record (sprint, quarter, year) that unifies platform team roadmaps into a single execution and risk-management view, with clear critical paths to autonomy feature readiness and validation gates.
    • Lead cross-functional planning and high-velocity execution across Simulation, Validation, Tools, and Infrastructure teams, proactively resolving dependencies and blockers that slow builds, tests, or validation, and driving timely, evidence-based decisions.
    • Drive transparency and accountability in the development ecosystem by clarifying ownership, interfaces, deliverables, and integration checkpoints, and by establishing governance cadences and reporting that highlight autonomy development efficiency, test capacity, and validation risk.
    • Identify and resolve systemic issues in the development workflow (e.g., flaky tests, bottlenecked simulation capacity, long triage loops), and continuously evolve Technical Project Management practices for platform work, including tooling, processes, and mentoring other TPMs focused on autonomy efficiency and validation outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • 10+ years program/project management experience within a software, automotive, aerospace, robotics, or mobility-related industry.
    • Knowledge of the AD/ADAS development ecosystem for in-vehicle and off-vehicle stack.
    • Proven track record of leading large projects to successful delivery spanning cross functional engineering organizations of 100+ stakeholders.
    • Experience driving technical projects in ambiguity, with only high level direction across distributed teams and diverse business cultures.
    • Experience with establishing and evolving projects operations and decision making structures adapting to team culture and operating constraints.
NICE TO HAVES
    • Experience in Autonomous Vehicle projects, Automotive, or OEM/Tier-1 environments
    • Experience in the development of autonomy features for L2/L4 systems
    • Proficiency in Business level Japanese
    • PMP/PMI or other Project Management certifications are welcome
