<p> Department/Group Overview:<br /> Supporting the Disney Advertising organization the Data Strategy team are subject matter experts in each of the following areas:<br /> • Identity<br /> • Measurement<br /> • Addressability<br /> • Programmatic<br /> • Data-forward business development<br /> Job Summary:<br /> We're looking for an individual to join the Data Science, Strategy, and Instrumentation Organization as a Sr. Data Science Engineer. The individual that fills this role will be responsible for driving data science and engineering development within a range of Advertising focus areas including identity, interoperability, measurement and Clean Rooms. They will be considered a technical expert within the team and have a major say in influencing development standards and data architecture. The ideal candidate naturally demonstrates initiative and a desire to design and optimize engineering processes.<br /> <br /> Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:<br /> Develop Pipelines + Implement Code (75%)<br /> • Design, develop and oversee the deployment of code in SQL, Python or other applicable languages to build client-facing analytical tools (REST APIs) and complex data pipelines.<br /> • Design and develop the orchestration of processes (via Airflow or native cloud tools) that ingest, join and process terabytes of both structured and unstructured data from multiple sources to distribute to storage repositories and API endpoints for data collaboration, AI and machine learning deployment initiatives.<br /> • Work with business leadership and technical teams to gather requirements and ensure development work meets business needs; communicate architectural designs to leadership to ensure scope is appropriately captured.<br /> • Establish design standards for the development of data pipelines and engineering tools that leverage AI/ML; ensure code is consistent and repeatable.<br /> Provide Thought Leadership & Mentorship (25%)<br /> • Provide mentorship to junior team members by assisting with the scoping and architecture of projects from a technical lens.<br /> • Provide expertise in development and architecture best-practices within SQL, Python, Airflow and cloud environments such as Google Cloud, Snowflake and AWS.<br /> <br /> Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:<br /> • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and minimum of 5 years of experience (or Masters degree and minimum of 3 year of experience) working in a data engineering role.<br /> • Proficiency using SQL within Cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud and Snowflake.<br /> • Proficiency developing code, pipelines and orchestration processes in Airflow using Python.<br /> • Proficiency in bash and other command-line programming tools such as Google Cloud/AWS SDKs and Snowflake SnowSQL.<br /> • Experience creating technical documentation and writing/creating visuals to scope requirements for developers to implement.<br /> • Experience working in an agile environment helping lead development of requirements, management of workflows and priorities, and generation of feedback to a data team.<br /> • Innovative thinker capable of operating both in a strategic capacity (big-picture perspective, asks ''why'') and a hands-on/execution capacity (detail-oriented, conscientious).<br /> • Great organization, communication, and teamwork skills.<br /> • Preference given to experience in digital advertising and advertiser-facing data products such as Data Clean Rooms.<br /> #DisneyAdvertising<br /> The hiring range for this remote position is $135,200 to $208,400 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
