Job Summary:

As the Sous Chef at the Westhampton Hotel, you’ll be at the heart of an exciting, fast-paced culinary operation in beautiful Westhampton, NY. This role is an opportunity to lead, create, and bring unforgettable dining and catering experiences to life.

You’ll play a key role in the success of the Culinary Department, partnering closely with the Executive Chef to drive innovation and excellence across daily service and special events. From crafting inspired daily features to executing flawless plated dinners, cocktail receptions, weddings, and high-profile catering events, you’ll help deliver memorable moments for every guest.

 

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-volume environment, brings creativity to the table, and is flexible to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
  • Produces and execute catering events
  • Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Catering experience is required 
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities 
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed
