Role summary

Fitness Avenue is hiring a hands-on Shopify eCommerce Manager to run day-to-day ownership of our Shopify Plusstore (excluding paid media execution). This role owns onsite merchandising, product and collection page quality, CRO/testing cadence, promo implementation QA, platform hygiene, and weekly executive reporting.

What success looks like

  • Conversion rate and shopping experience improve through disciplined merchandising and CRO.
  • Product pages and collection pages are consistently high quality and launched on time.
  • Promos run correctly (discount logic, exclusions, cart/checkout totals) with zero avoidable issues.
  • Storefront issues are detected early and resolved fast (before they cost money).
  • A steady pipeline of measurable storefront improvements ships every week.
  • Weekly reporting is consistent: numbers + risks + decisions needed only.

Responsibilities

Storefront performance (merchandising + CRO)

  • Improve conversion through onsite merchandising: navigation, collections, filters, sorting rules, featured products, internal linking, badges/labels, and onsite discovery.
  • Run a steady CRO program: maintain a prioritized backlog, launch tests, measure outcomes, ship winners, and document results.
  • Diagnose funnel performance (PDP → ATC → checkout start → purchase) and ship fixes.

Product pages + collection pages

  • Maintain PDPs to a consistent standard (accurate specs, media completeness, clear structure, trust/clarity blocks, compatibility notes where relevant).
  • Build and maintain collection pages (sorting rules, featured products, filters, internal links, conversion-focused layout).
  • Maintain a listing quality system for priority SKUs (top-selling / highest-profit items first).

Promo execution (implementation + QA)

  • Implement promos based on approved promo briefs (dates, mechanics, exclusions, messaging).
  • QA promos end-to-end: included/excluded SKUs, stacking behavior, cart totals, checkout totals, messaging accuracy.
  • Maintain a rollback plan and monitor performance during launch windows.

Shopify Plus platform ownership (governance + change control)

  • Own theme/app change control: QA discipline, rollback readiness, and a change log (what changed, when, why, impact).
  • Monitor and resolve storefront issues (app conflicts, speed issues, tracking breaks, checkout friction).

Store development (apps, UI improvements, automation)

  • Maintain a running pipeline of high-impact storefront improvements (UI/UX, onsite tools, automation) with clear prioritization.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend apps/platform enhancements using a simple business case: problem → options → cost → expected impact → risk → rollout plan.
  • Implement with strict change control: staging/QA checklist, rollback plan, and post-launch measurement.

Reporting

  • Produce a weekly one-page executive report: numbers + risks + decisions needed only (no storytelling).
  • Report on core KPIs (CVR, revenue/session, AOV, funnel steps, top collections performance) and what shipped that week.

Cross-functional coordination

  • Work closely with Digital Marketing, Content, and Operations to keep launches, merchandising, and onsite messaging aligned.
  • Paid media strategy/execution is handled by marketing; this role owns onsite Shopify performance and implementation quality.

Requirements

  • 3+ years hands-on Shopify management with Shopify Plus experience.
  • Experience managing a Shopify store at $500k+/month+ revenue and 500+ SKUs (we are larger).
  • Proven CRO/optimization experience with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong merchandising capability (collections/navigation/filters/discovery).
  • Strong process discipline: QA checklists, change control, rollback thinking, documentation.
  • Able to operate independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

  • Experience selling a mix of small items + large/heavy items (shipping complexity).
  • Strong interest in fitness.
  • Post-secondary education preferred or equivalent proven experience.
