Job Purpose

As a Shipping & Receiving Associate II at VulcanForms, Newburyport, MA, you will perform physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move materials by hand or using material handling equipment. You will also manage verification, acceptance, and counting received products as needed. Additionally, you will input, update and maintain accurate inventory records in systems as required and review and file documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the packing, shipping, receiving and distribution of all products, packages, materials, parts and goods required for shipments to appropriate locations.
  • Operate UPS World Ship computer program to prepare shipping labels. Contact carrier representative(s) to obtain quotes, make arrangements, issue documentation and instructions and handle returns.
  • Assist and support production control – process, coordinate and manage all material entering and departing the company via our internal computer software system.
  • Handle shipping processes and documentation, including purchase orders, packing slips, goods receipts, and various carrier requirements. Update purchase order status and inventory records in the system.
  • Resolve discrepancies between orders and goods; related to documentation, records, or counts, and follow up with employees, suppliers, or customers as needed.
  • Perform inventory cycle counting, manage shipping supplies as required and requisitioning or ordering as needed and utilize best practices in locating and maintaining physical inventory.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks within the shipping & receiving area, including 5S implementation.
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Make local deliveries and pick ups using a company vehicle.
  • Adhere to and enforce the company's health & safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma with 3+ years of shipping/receiving and inventory control experience.
  • Knowledge of couriers (FedEx, UPS, Etc.), including how to operate their respective software packages, and website processes.
  • Ability to follow written procedures.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and work area.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with suppliers, customers, and other departments within the company.
  • Ability to complete training as a forklift operator.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
  • Must use safety protection when and where required.
  • Capable of performing the essential duties of the job and able to lift up to 60 lbs.


VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match.

The hourly pay range for this position is $18.80-$25.80.
