Service Technician (Seasonal – Full Time)

Position Summary

The Service Technician plays a critical role within our Service Department, supporting over 3,000+ annual service calls. This in-field role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing residential swimming pool systems and related equipment.

Service calls include pool openings and closings, pump and heater repairs, plumbing repairs, leak detection, equipment upgrades, and general troubleshooting. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first mindset.

This is a full-time seasonal position, typically beginning in early April and running through November each year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pool openings and closings in accordance with company procedures

  • Diagnose and repair pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, salt systems, and plumbing components

  • Identify and repair leaks and plumbing issues

  • Conduct onsite evaluations and recommend service solutions

  • Test and adjust pool water chemistry as needed

  • Complete equipment replacements and system upgrades

  • Accurately document service work and communicate findings to customers

  • Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and equipment

  • Follow all company safety protocols and operational standards

  • Work collaboratively with team members while operating independently in the field

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Mechanically inclined (required)

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience servicing in-ground swimming pools

  • Knowledge of pool hydraulics and water chemistry

  • Experience with pool automation and variable speed systems

  • Industry certifications (CPO or equivalent)
