Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist

 As a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist you will:

  • Process and oversee biweekly payroll within the region of responsibility, which includes North America, Brazil, Taiwan and others as necessary
  • Review payroll processing system to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions
  • Resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company, federal and state regulations
  • Set up new starters and leavers
  • Review and maintain timekeeping system records and process changes to ensure time records are uploaded accurately and timely
  • All absence management reporting including sickness and holiday tracking as well as end of year processes such as holiday reconciliations
  • Provide Payroll GL files to Finance after each pay date
  • Process month-end and quarter-end close procedures. Provide outstanding payroll reports to Finance or appropriate agencies, such as QTR End Vacation Liability reports for USA/Canada/Brazil/Taiwan or agency filings
  • Communicate with State Agencies regarding Payroll taxes
  • Register/reactivate/close tax IDs and submit necessary payroll reports on timely manner
  • Balance daily tax invoices and arrange funding to ADP; address and resolve tax notices
  • Audit quarterly and year-end tax reports to ensure accurate tax filings
  • Manage year end processes and distribute all tax forms
  • Assist other country payrolls as needed
  • Responsible for administration of all NA benefit and retirement plans
  • Act as main point of contact for all payroll queries within the region
  • Act as main point of contact with payroll/benefits vendor for the US
  • Responsible for benefits related questions and strategy where necessary
  • Responsible for any system testing regarding benefits/payroll matter
  • Collaborate with Finance, Tax Team and HR colleagues on various payroll and benefit related queries

 What YOU bring to the team:

  • Strong knowledge of the US payroll legislation and requirements
  • Work experience of min. 5 years in a payroll and benefits role
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and data management skills
  • Willingness to learn and be trained on different tools and technologies
  • Ability to self-train, multitask and prioritize technical skills & knowledge
  • Proficiency with Excel including Pivot Tables, VBA, etc.
