Penguin Random House has an exciting opportunity to join our HR Operations function in a highly visible, enterprise-impacting role. This role balances technical rigor (report building, reconciliation, governance) with consultative influence (insights, training, stakeholder engagement). You will own the quality, flow, and reporting of HR data, serving as a critical partner to HR, technical, and global teams. You'll lead the development and governance of dashboards and analytics products in Power BI and Visier, translate business questions into actionable insights, and enable data-driven decision-making across the HR organization through strong storytelling, training, and support. Specific responsibilities include: Data Governance • Investigate data nuances with technical teams, and execute fixes or communicate process change with teams • Communicate, enforce, and audit data standardization practices for all HR metrics • Serve as the owner of end-to-end operational data flows that feed U.S. reporting and coordinate fixes with global teams when cross-region impact occurs Reporting • Own all HR dashboards and reporting products for PowerBI and Visier, including managing version control and stakeholder communication, and provide training and support to US HR team (with additional support for global regions) • Partner with technical and HR teams to gather business requirements • Produce and present data analysis and insights to teams • Manage regulatory and internal reporting cadences for the U.S. and support global requests Please apply if you meet the following qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytics role, with at least 3 years in an HR capacity • Demonstrated experience building visual dashboards in Power BI (knowledge of DAX a plus) • Excellent Business Analyst skills - proven ability to lead requirement gathering discussions, achieve alignment, and translate needs into development tasks • Track record of owning data quality and reconciliation processes • Experience with Visier or similar workforce analytics platforms required • Previous experience with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS) a plus • Experience with Jira or other task or project management software a plus • Experience using Articial Intelligence tools to analyze data a plus Required Skills • Experience with identifying, monitoring, and reporting on various HR KPIs • Experience creating simple, high-impact visual dashboards that maximize clarity and adoption • Exceptional data storytelling and presentation skills; able to simplify complexity for executive audiences to translate • HR data into actionable insights to improve workforce, culture, and efficiency • Strategic thinker who pursues new questions with curiosity, independently executes on solutions, and actively investigates and operationalizes new techniques to improve technical processes • High integrity, attention to detail and a relentless focus on data accuracy • Comfortable training and supporting data literacy for the department, crafting and leading presentations, Office Hours, and direct on-hand support • A track record of strong self-management - owning short- and long-term project efforts and meeting established goals with minimal oversight The Penguin Random House national headquarters is located in New York City. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
