Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Planning Analyst (SFPA) will provide financial reporting, analysis, budgeting/forecasting, identification of risks and opportunities for projects/portfolio assigned and be an integral part of CAMH’s financial planning and analysis team.

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst (SFPA) will build effective, collaborative relationships and work strategically with the Finance Managers, Finance Directors, Program Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents across CAMH.

The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.

What you will do in this role:

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst (SFPA) will be responsible for

  • Maintenance of the financial data systematically by monitoring, reconciling, analyzing and reporting, including monitoring
  • specific month-end reporting tasks, variance analysis, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting of a variety of portfolios
  • Working with stakeholders to analyze and bring forward new business requests and having ongoing discussions to help identify associated opportunities risks to the organization
  • participate in monthly and/or quarterly compliance reporting by owning analysis to achieve accurate and timely financial/statistical reports;
  • Strengthening relationships within finance and various stakeholder with regular communication and effective feedbacks.
  • The SFPA will be working with sensitive and strategic information as it relates to patients, programs, departments and staff. He/she will review and improve related internal controls and assist with ensuring compliance with internal controls, CAMH policies, MIS guidelines, CICA Handbook (PSAB) standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Professional designation of CPA and/or near completion
  • A minimum of 4-years of full cycle financial planning and analysis working experience is required
  • Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis of large databases, and understanding of relational databases is required. Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, patient information systems, HR applications, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and software applications, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly is vital.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to apply critical thinking, and reporting of findings that are relevant and value-add
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external departments are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative, facilitative role with is essential, as are well developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written), sound judgment, discretion, tact, and courtesy.
  • A commitment to high quality work along with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while responding to a multiplicity of demands in a dynamic environment is essential.
  • Self-starter who has the ability to work both independently through self-directed learning/working with minimal supervision, as well as, collaboratively and through teamwork

  • Experience with presenting to Senior Management and Executives is an asset

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $91,758.17 – $114,697.71 per year.
  • Employees in this role may progress within the full pay range of $91,758.17 – $137,637.25 per year
