We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Engineer 1 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. We offer engineers the opportunity to work on challenging environmental services projects for a wide range of clients. This position entails travel to job sites and working outside of the office setting some of the time, conducting site and subsurface monitoring for environmental projects, operation & maintenance of remediation systems, as well as monitoring contractor activities during construction. This is a full-time position in our Rochester, NY, Midlothian, VA, Charlotte, NC, Cary, NC, or Greenville, SC office. A remote position may be considered for the ideal candidate. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will: • Perform mechanical and process design analysis and calculations according to project requirements. • Develop construction drawings and technical specifications. • Determine material estimates based on designs. • Perform routine data collection and optimization activities for remediation systems. • Conduct operations and maintenance of remedial systems, including system optimization. • Develop technical approaches and complex contaminated sites and identify opportunities to optimize/innovate existing and new procedures and systems. • Draft technical sections of project communications and reports. • Review and interpret regulations, as appropriate. • Develop technical scopes of work and arenaflex estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized project opportunities for review by others. • Commit to maintaining a membership in one professional society or technical organization in their discipline or primary area of technical interest. • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter. • Comply with Company and client Health & Safety protocols. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements: • B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering. M.S. degree welcomed. • 5-10 years of environmental engineering and/or consulting experience. • Professional engineering registration in core discipline, or ability to obtain within one year. • Experience with the full range of an environmental project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, budgetary arenaflex development, detailed design, and contractor selection. • Experience with remediation systems, including water pumping and treatment, vapor extraction, construction dewatering, permitting and contractor management. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with clients, senior project engineers and staff. • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software. Proficiency in AutoCAD is expected. • Ability to travel for site visits and client meetings across the U.S. • PLC & HMI Programming experience is preferred, but not required. • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required. This role has the option to work remotely. The salary range for this position is $70,000-$120,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, location, and market conditions.
