Summary

​The Senior Business Analyst / Business Architect works directly with clients to drive and fulfill their P&C Insurance business requirements for a full system implementation within Guidewire InsuranceNow.
These Business Architects work with other supporting Business Analysts in the following areas: requirements organization, planning and monitoring of requirements, requirements analysis, translating and simplifying requirements, QA testing, requirement configuration within InsuranceNow Studio, management of time for budget and schedule, maintaining communication with key project team and stakeholders, and requirement planning and task breakdown.
The Business Architect helps drive individual project teams to successful delivery outcomes, focusing on delivery of clear and concise business requirements with clear problem statements.

Job Description

Project Deliverables

  • Engages in all aspects of a product or service offering project for a client, from inception to installation. 

  • Actively consults with client’s business and technical resources to lead and collaborate on business requirements and functional design documents

  • Mentors others on managing project implementation throughout implementation cycle 

  • Actively seeks mentorship and communicates to leadership any unclear expectation or business issue

  • Manages, advises and leads requirements on project implementations

  • Actively consults with clients in a thoughtful manner, engaging portfolio leadership as needed

  • Responsible for advocating the methodology for product implementation

  • Helps to design and estimates business solutions for product gaps and enhancements

  • Works with customer and partner resources to understand objectives and requirements using both business and system skills

  • Tracks work time and ensures correct billable time reporting

  • May be required for assistance in quality assurance testing of system deliverables. 

  • Responsible for customer demos and presentations of the system during Implementation and releases

Stakeholder Management

  • Advises and gains stakeholder feedback where necessary

  • Escalates all scope changes and customizations

  • Communicates issues clearly and credibly with widely varied audiences

  • Acts as the business point person for interaction and alignment with project management, engineering, product development liaison, and other members of cross-functional teams

Project Leadership

  • Identifies potential consequences with risk levels and coaches other team members on implementing resolution to problems while escalating as necessary 

  • Leads team in understanding customer requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis, and problem resolution and gives recommendations for process improvement

 Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of business analyst experience

  • 3+ years of P&C Insurance experience

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.  

  • Experienced with working in a cross-functional team and with team members in different geographical locations.

  • Strong communication, analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-start

  • Strong knowledge of agile software development processes, and iterative development principles.

  • Understands basic insurance concepts and can communicate on insurance topics.

  • Ability to assess and manage risks and communicate appropriately.

  • Preferred: Experienced in directly communicating with and managing expectations of both internal and external executive stakeholders.

  • Experienced in developing and maintaining relationships with internal team members, customers and partner organizations.

  • Strong self-starter with desire to grow in Insurance Business knowledge.

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present at different levels using various tools (PowerPoint/Google Slides experience required)

  • May require travel up to 25% 
     

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $134,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
