This is a part-time positions (approximately 5-10 hours/week on an as needed basis). 

 

This position is work from home, but may require travel to participant homes (mainly in Southwestern PA, but we do serve participants in Northwestern PA as well - mileage is reimbursed)

Position Summary:

 

The RN Consultant provides skilled nursing consultation and training to program participants and Service Coordination Unlimited, Inc. staff on complex issues related to health, welfare, and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Consultation Services: Provide consultation to program participants regarding attendant assisted basic services and ancillary services.
  • Training & Supervision: Provide training and supervision to program participants and staff on health maintenance, welfare, and safety issues.
  • Service Delivery Problem Solving: Offer consultation on service delivery problem solving related to health, welfare, and safety.
  • Communication: Communicate with healthcare providers to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of program participants.
  • Compliance: Review and sign off on complex or medically involved CMIs with Service Coordinators and/or Program Managers as required by the Office of Long Term Living (OLTL).
  • Case Management: Perform case management duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) required; BSN preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years related experience in nursing; experience with various disabilities preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, customer focus, integrity, job knowledge, dependability, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, productivity, quality, self-development, and teamwork.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using computer systems and technology relevant to the role.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform tasks such as reaching, stretching, stooping, sitting, walking, and standing. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds independently.
  • License: Valid driver’s license and dependable means of transportation. Position may include travel off public transportation routes.
