🌟 General Purpose

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities affecting the pulmonary system.

🩺 Essential Duties

• Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures of the facility.
• Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs.
• Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from health care team members and document actual and/or potential diagnoses.
• Plan outcomes of care for assigned patients.
• Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and patient care outcome standards.
• Follow emergency, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Promote and participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communication.
• Report changes in patient respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, primary nurse, and physician as needed and prior to leaving the facility.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with inter-department personnel.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of resident protected health information (PHI) and report any suspected violations.
• Assume accountability and responsibility for assigned duties.

🎓 Qualifications

Education & Experience:
• Associate Degree from an accredited school required
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
• Bachelor of Science in a healthcare field preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in acute and/or subacute setting preferred

Certificates & Licenses:
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state of practice
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• ACLS certification required
• Knowledge of office machines and equipment

• Ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports and correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions

Mathematical Skills:

General Purpose

• Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.

• Reports changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, the nurse primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and prior to leaving the facility

• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.

• Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.

• Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing the assigned duties of this position.

• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisor responsibilities

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

Must possess, as a minimum, an Associate Degree from an accredited school.

Must be a Graduate of a respiratory care program.

Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in an acute and/or subacute unit preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess a Current Respiratory Care Practitioner verification license for the state in which he/she practices (if applicable). Must hold a current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications. Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment.
