Job Title: Remote RN Case Manager - Mid Michigan (30 miles radius from Lansing, MI)

We are looking for an energetic, independent and well-organized Registered Nurse to fill a Workers Compensation Medical Case Manager position. 3 years of RN experience required, and active SOM RN license. This requires local travel to appointments. It is a direct hire position.

OVERVIEW
As a Medical Case Manager you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of injured workers and their families. Your responsibilities include working closely with injured workers to facilitate their recovery. You will work collaboratively with the patient, their family, medical providers, members of our team, and others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from home, and on the road. Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm). Up to 60% travel. In some situations, overnight travel.
  • Provides Medical Case Management to individuals through in person and telephonic communications with the patient, physician, other health care providers, employer and others.
  • Evaluates patient's treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Provides assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient's progress.
  • Negotiation the delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
  • Compensation:
    • Starting salary based on experience -$63K - $85K
    • Mileage reimbursement.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clinical experience - ER, Urgent Care, Orthopedics, Surgical or Neurology - 3 years
  • Medical case management, Utilization review, or Managed care - 3 years
  • Hospital discharge planning or home evaluations - Telephonic and in person
  • Proficient computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and use of multiple monitors
  • Registered Nursing Diploma or associate's degree in nursing with an active Michigan License
  • Case Manager Certificate preferred (CCM, CIRS, or equivalent); Must be willing to obtain within 36 months
