Job Summary:

Are you thinking of transitioning from your current position as a Videographer to a role as a Digital Reporter? In this capacity, you'll oversee civil litigation proceedings and utilize digital tools to record all content, including witness testimonies.

The Digital Reporter is responsible for:

  • Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
  • Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling responsibilities as a State Notary.
  • Recording proceedings using high-fidelity audio technology to ensure clear and thorough documentation.
  • Accurately annotating case events and terminology for precise transcription.
  • Conducting comprehensive research and verifying information from diverse sources.
  • Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a State Notary Commission or eligibility to acquire one
  • Possess or be capable of obtaining certification or state licensure as required
  • Familiarity with or openness to learning about U.S. civil proceedings
  • Possession of or readiness to obtain digital reporting equipment
  • Capability to confidently oversee live legal proceedings
  • Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
  • Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
  • Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
  • Willingness to work as an independent contractor
  • Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
