In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust ETL processes that power our critical business operations and analytical capabilities. You'll be working with a vast array of data sources, integrating them into our enterprise data warehouse and various data marts, enabling informed decision-making across the organization. As a Remote ETL Developer, your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver superior service and innovative solutions to our customers. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and efficient data pipelines that extract data from diverse operational systems, transform it according to business rules, and load it into our enterprise data warehouse and various departmental data marts. This includes working with both structured and unstructured data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Your expertise will be critical in building and maintaining data assets that support advanced analytics, machine learning initiatives, and critical business intelligence dashboards. Beyond the technical execution, you will play a key role in understanding business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and proactively identifying opportunities for data integration and process improvement. You'll engage in performance tuning of ETL jobs, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and implement robust error handling mechanisms. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement scalable and efficient ETL processes and data pipelines. • Extract data from various source systems (e.g., relational databases, flat files, APIs, cloud sources). • Transform raw data into a structured, consistent, and clean format suitable for analysis and reporting. • Load transformed data into enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and other data repositories. • Optimize and tune existing ETL jobs and data structures for performance, efficiency, and scalability. • Monitor data pipeline health, troubleshoot data quality issues, and resolve data discrepancies promptly. • Collaborate closely with data architects, business intelligence analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and design optimal data flow solutions. • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across all data integration processes. • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes, data lineage, and data models. • Participate in data modeling efforts and schema design for new and existing data assets. • Implement robust error handling, logging, and alerting mechanisms for ETL workflows. • Stay current with emerging ETL technologies, data warehousing best practices, and industry trends. Required Skills • Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and optimization. • Proven experience with enterprise-level ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, DataStage, Talend, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory). • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology), star schemas, and fact/dimension tables. • Experience with relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL). • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data processing. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a remote work setting. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
