NEOGOV is seeking a Criminal Justice Trainer 4 to join the Advanced Training Division (ATD) at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC). This role focuses on delivering training programs for law enforcement professionals, emphasizing effective responses to behavioral health crises and leadership development. Responsibilities • Delivers training for 40-hour CIT Statewide, 21st Century Policing Leadership, and First-Level Leadership focusing on evidence-based practices and adult learning principles. • Serves as SME and primary instructor and communicates regularly with other instructors, program managers, and external partners regarding student performance and continuity of instruction. • Leads interactive and engaging training sessions, including scenario-based training and group discussions. • Conducts role-playing exercises and simulations to enhance learning. • Oversees the learning environment by setting the tone and modeling proper behaviors for staff and students. • Serves as the subject matter expert in law enforcement policies, procedures, and tactics, as well as law enforcement leadership practices. • Delivers Advanced Training or Train the Trainer mentoring for 21st Century Policing Leadership curriculum as needed. • Provides feedback for other instructors and conducts regular debriefs to improve curriculum delivery. Skills • At least five (5) years of criminal justice experience (law enforcement and/or corrections). • At least three (3) years of experience delivering approved curriculum to adult learners within both small and large groups. • At least five (5) years of experience in positions require strong verbal and written communication skills. • At least five (5) years of experience working collaboratively with varying groups of professionals. • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, sociology, psychology, adult education, a degree plan specific to the course taught, or other similar degree plan. • Five years of experience in criminal justice (law enforcement and/or corrections). • Seven years of experience in criminal justice (law enforcement and/or corrections). • Three or more years of experience training criminal justice professionals, either as a WSCJTC Criminal Justice Trainer 2 or higher, or within a criminal justice agency. • Two years of supervisory experience and knowledge of the principles of efficient supervision and management.
