Qualifications:

Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN). Must have good standing license (RN) valid in the state in which clinical will practice. Must also possess current CPR Certification.

RN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience.
RN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
RN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty

Your responsibilities in this role may include:

  • Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation.
  • Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests.
  • Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy.
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
  • Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment.
  • Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
  • Assist in the facilitation of special events, including, but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events.
  • Implement health seminars, including, but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
  • Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
  • Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
  • Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
  • Maintain RN license with good standing.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee.

Working Conditions:
  • Required to work weekends at least once a month including one off shift per week to ensure to ensure program coverage.
  • May be required to work shifts outside of assigned shifts during critical staffing shortages.
  • The minimum holiday requirement is 1 major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) and 1 major winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day (night shift: New Year's Eve). Other Holidays will be rotated amongst all staff.
  • This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather
  • For Gaudenzia sites with multiple programs, you may be required to work in any of the programs based on staffing needs

- PRN positions - 3 shifts per month are required.
