Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an exceptionally detail-oriented and experienced Proofreader – Grammar & Quality to join our dynamic team in Putney, London. In this critical role, you will be the final line of defense, ensuring all written content produced by or for Career.zycto is flawless in terms of grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and factual accuracy. You will work across a diverse range of materials, including job descriptions, marketing collateral, website content, internal communications, reports, and professional correspondence. This position demands an individual with an eagle eye for detail, a deep understanding of English language conventions, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of linguistic quality. You will collaborate closely with content creators, marketing specialists, and HR professionals, providing constructive feedback and ensuring brand consistency and clarity across all platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Rigorously proofread and edit a wide array of documents, including job descriptions, website content, marketing materials, press releases, reports, and internal communications for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and clarity.
  • Ensure all content adheres to Career.zycto’s established style guides, brand voice, and linguistic standards.
  • Verify factual accuracy, consistency in terminology, and proper formatting across all materials.
  • Provide constructive and diplomatic feedback to content creators and team members to improve overall writing quality.
  • Collaborate with marketing, content, and HR teams to understand project requirements and deadlines.
  • Identify and document common errors or areas for improvement in existing style guides.
  • Manage multiple proofreading projects simultaneously while maintaining strict deadlines.
  • Stay updated on best practices in proofreading, editing, and content quality assurance.

Required Skills

  • Native-level proficiency in English with an exceptional grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proven experience as a professional proofreader or copy editor.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for errors.
  • Strong understanding of various style guides (e.g., Chicago, APA, AP) and the ability to adapt to house styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
