Quad, formerly Ivie & Associates, is seeking an entry-level onsite Proofreader who will ensure private label packaging is completely accurate for a Fortune 100 client in Bentonville, AR. The Proofreader keeps track of and physically moves jobs from one step of completion to the next. The Proofreader is expected to work with our client to coordinate project flow and deadlines. Additionally, the Proofreader must have the experience/ability to read, understand, and work with client data to fulfill his/her role.

Quad expects that the Proofreader will always act to assure the highest level of ethics, professionalism, and personal performance possible. The Proofreader will work enthusiastically to meet or exceed all performance goals set by Quad and will contribute their utmost to assist Quad in achieving its stated goals.

This role is onsite in Bentonville, AR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day: The proofreader role provides support to the client’s private brands packaging team
  • Responsible for comparing label artwork to an internal information database for accuracy
  • Confirm compliance with the client’s brand and company standards
  • Verify correct spelling and grammar
  • Edit sentences to improve clarity
  • Make changes to the format of the text for better flow
  • Ensure that the word choice selected in particular instances is appropriate
  • Communicate with team members and the client daily to ensure consistency across the team
  • Use Excel to update reports and spreadsheets daily and as needed
  • As items become prioritized, the proofreader is flexible in getting those items completed in a timely manner to ensure product timelines are met
  • Oversees quality control in conjunction with Private Brands Team
  • Must have strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in English or Journalism. Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.
  • Extensive knowledge of AP Style
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle many issues, items, and functions at one time and deal rapidly with multiple items in a prioritized sequence
