Responsibilities: 

 What You Will Do:

  • Identify gaps and interpret sophisticated internal/ external business issues followed by recommending innovative solutions that could be broadly applied and standardized as appropriate.
  • Support the development, implementation, training and communication, of standardized effective procedures, processes and policies related to Distribution Protection in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Complete the system set up of operating projects, budgeted and unbudgeted, and liaises with the operational project managers regarding cost controls, accruals, and forecasts.
  • Monitor and compile reports (routine and ad-hoc, as required) of key performance metrics to ensure process and procedural compliance.
  • Use well-adapted project management practices to lead various technical and operating initiatives required to achieve defined improvement targets.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and system enhancements that optimize process efficiency and/or efficacy within targeted cost parameters, while keeping safety, regulatory compliance and quality at the forefront.
  • Maintain key relationships with Engineering, and Operations through ongoing contact and attendance at various committee meetings.
  • Support general duties and tasks that may periodically arise.


Qualifications: 

  Required:

  • Post-secondary education, or 2-5 years relevant industry experience
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external groups and roles at all levels
  • Proven Project management experience on projects in office and field environments
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using GIS applications to view and analyze gas networks
  • Experience using work and asset management systems
  • Proven high performer based on previous performance reviews
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with process and procedural improvement and change management
  • Strong Corrosion Prevention technical and business process knowledge
  • Proficiency with financial management systems and applications including Advanced Excel (formulas and Pivot tables), PowerBI and SharePoint; Oracle Financials/Project Management would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is based in an office environment, with the potential need for isolated instances of travel required to other office locations within areas supported by the Distribution Protection department.

Travel Requirements:

  • Isolated instances (1-2 annually) of single day travel to offices within the province may be required. EGI will directly arrange travel and accommodations where possible and if necessary with any other expenses to be requested by the employee and approved in advance by the EGI people leader.
