Privacy Specialist – Data Governance  Are you passionate about protecting personal data and ensuring compliance with evolving privacy regulations? You’ll lead efforts to strengthen our privacy posture across systems and processes, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CPRA, PIPEDA, and Quebec law 25. Your expertise in privacy risk assessment and operational thinking will help protect our data ecosystem and unlock new value. At our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, we practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes. Join our governance team as a privacy specialist! What you’ll do: • Develop and maintain privacy policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with global regulations. • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and advise on data protection measures for new projects and systems. • Define and monitor privacy-related data quality metrics. • Facilitate audits and enforcement activities to ensure compliance with Quebec Law Project requirements. • Oversee adherence to data retention and disposal policies during ongoing data purge initiatives and report instances of non-compliance to audit guidelines. • Provide training and guidance to business units on privacy best practices. What we’re looking for: • Bachelor’s degree in law, Information Management, Computer Science, or related field. • 3+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, or data governance roles. • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and privacy laws, including Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, EU GDPR, and other relevant legislation. • Experience conducting PIAs and managing data protection programs. • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and privacy-enhancing technologies.
