Do you have a passion for working directly with youth? Are you ready to make a difference with runaway, foster youth, and at-risk adolescents? Youthworks is seeking Youth Mentors to provide basic care and supervision to youth ages 12-17 years old at its Short-Term Care and Assessment Center in Bismarck. Youthworks is committed to the mission statement: \u201cHelping ensure all youth have a safe place t ... o belong and be heard.\u201d Youth Mentors provide direct supervision of youth, are responsible for performing initial intake paperwork and discharge paperwork with families or placing agencies, serve as a positive role model, teach basic activities of daily living, pass medications as needed, assist with homework and educational activities, and create structure for youth. Preference will go to applicants who have an interest in, or have experience as a Youth Mentor/Coach/DSP/QSP/School Para/Teacher/Mental Health Advocate/Peer Support/Childcare/ETC\u2026 The STCAC is staffed 24 hours per day on a scheduled. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 21 years of age, able to pass an intensive background check, and able to drive the agency vehicle. All employees for this position receive training in the following areas: First Aid/CPR, Mandated Reporter Training, Medication Management, as well as agency specific policies and procedures prior to working with youth. Applicants cannot be considered officially hired into this position until Youthworks receives notification the applicant background check has cleared.
