Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Support Representative to fill a temporary full-time position in the Thompson Customer
Service Centre to provide a wide range of operational administrative support related to planning, dispatching, and customer service
activities. This is a term opportunity with a duration of approximately 18 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and use a variety of operational and technical systems (i.e. Banner, MWM, SAP, CSI, OMS, PowerOn, SFM, EGIS),
maps, service and infrastructure data to support and optimize performance and efficiency of operational workflow in
Distribution Operations & Maintenance.
  • Monitor real-time performance of operational activities and adjust planned work schedules/assignments based on priority
requirements, real-time progress reports from field, understanding of electric and gas services, resource availability, and
technical considerations.
  • Review and analyze field reports, maps, work orders, permits and service data to make decisions and provide actionable
insights to optimize and prioritize operational workflows, including during unplanned outage and emergency situations.
  • Serve as a primary contact for troubleshooting real-time operational workflow issues, escalating more complex problems as
needed, and ensuring prompt resolution to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Plan, organize, dispatch and/or schedule work to CSC field staff based on understanding of type of service required,
distribution equipment and layout, material, job and labour requirements, operational policies and procedures utilizing
operational, work management and technical systems (Banner, MWM, SAP, CSI, OMS, PowerOn, SFM, EGIS) while
maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain contact with field teams regarding scheduled and ongoing work, completion timeline and information. Answer
inquiries and assist with troubleshooting regarding job status and requirements, delivery dates, and resource requirements
from internal and external parties.
  • Serve as a liaison to facilitate communication between departments including Work Management, Customer Engagement
Centre, Operations Support Services, Time and Expense, HR, IT, Customer Billing & Payments, Major Accounts, Energy
Services, Materials Management, Customer Metering TSOM, Electrical Codes and Standards and MHUS to ensure alignment
of operational goals and timely completion of tasks. Provide status updates and coordinate actions to maintain productivity
and ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintenance in operational systems (Banner, MWM, SAP, CSI, OMS, PowerOn,
SFM, EGIS) and manage data integrity across systems.
  • Responsible for technical application and exception error queues relating to Banner, SAP and MWM.
  • Analyze time and expense data, issue reports and respond to employee inquiries related to their time, expenses and benefits
ensuring adherence to applicable collective agreements and/or corporate policies.
  • Audit, reconcile, and investigate items related to Corporate Credit Cards.
  • Enter and maintain purchase requisitions, service entries, and goods receipts in SAP as well as travel and expense

management and FRC clothing management. Act as a liaison between Manitoba Hydro and external contractors in relation to
invoice management.

  • Process contractor/customer electrical wiring permits and schedule as required and/or in conjunction with a work order.
  • Assist with mentoring and training junior staff and new OSRs, sharing best practices and operational knowledge to enhance
team performance.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of system enhancements to standardize business processes, and alignment

with corporate goals and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education and three years directly related experience.
OR
  • Grade 12 education and completion of post-secondary courses related to Business Administration certificate, diploma or
equivalent plus two years directly related experience.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience with:
  • Banner, including thorough knowledge in creating new customer accounts, applying service rates, TLMS and creating and
closing service orders
  • SAP, working knowledge in HRMS, ZREGISTRY transactions.
  • Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), with working knowledge of job types, scheduling and time administration.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in an environment
with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office products and operational management software and systems (i.e. CSI, OMS,
PowerOn, SFM, EGIS)
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate change in process, procedure, or operations to align with corporate goals and strategic
initiatives.
  • Broad knowledge of Distribution Operations & Maintenance (DO&M) operational processes and policies.
  • Familiar with Union Agreements and Corporate policies as they relate to Distribution Operations and Maintenance (DO&M).

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $29.99-$41.09 Hourly,
$57,470.66-$78,744.64 Annually.
