Our year-long New Graduate Nurse Residency program provides the mentoring and support you need to transition from student nurse to professional nurse. You’ll be provided a three- to six-month unit-based orientation, attend monthly seminars and learning activities, formulate an individual professional development plan, and complete an Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) project related to a unit specialty of your choice.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a 912-bed not-for-profit, high-acuity teaching and research hospital located in Northwest Washington, D.C. We house the region's only adult burn center, a nationally verified Level I trauma center, and the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in the area.

Key Responsibilities

 

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyze trends and changes in patient status, and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. If Associates prepared, BSN enrollment required within one year of start date and completion of BSN within 4 years.
  • Must have Active DC Registered Nurse License prior to scheduled start date. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
