Role Overview

The Medical Records Reviewer ensures the accuracy, completeness, and quality of medical documentation delivered to clients. Operating at the intersection of healthcare knowledge and AI-assisted workflows, this role plays a crucial part in the final validation of medical records and related summaries. You will work closely with digital tools and AI-generated outputs to refine clinical summaries and ensure they reflect medical accuracy. This role is ideal for someone with strong clinical understanding, exceptional attention to detail, and comfort working with modern software tools in a fast-paced operations environment.

Your Impact:

  • Ensure clients receive fully accurate, high-quality medical records that meet strict clinical and organizational standards.
  • Improve the reliability and consistency of AI-generated medical summaries through precise review and refinement.
  • Identify and escalate clinical gaps or inconsistencies to maintain high operational accuracy.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in workflows, tools, and AI models by sharing insights and recurring patterns.
  • Support faster turnaround times, better documentation clarity, and stronger customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

Final Records Review – 40%

  • Review completed medical record requests for accuracy, completeness, and proper organization.
  • Validate that sensitive documentation meets internal quality-control standards.
  • Serve as the final checkpoint before delivering records to customers.
  • Identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing documentation components.

AI-Assisted Analysis – 30%

  • Utilize AI systems to generate medical summaries, chronologies, and insights.
  • Validate, correct, and refine AI-generated clinical outputs.
  • Apply medical knowledge to ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve AI-generated summaries.

Escalation & Internal Communication – 20%

  • Identify deficiencies or missing pieces in retrieved medical records and escalate appropriately.
  • Communicate clinical gaps, corrections, and QA issues clearly and promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Document and track issues within internal systems to ensure visibility and resolution.

AI & Tooling Feedback Loop – 10%

  • Provide daily feedback to improve AI models and operational tools.
  • Work with product and engineering teams to enhance workflows.
  • Report recurring errors or trends for system refinement.
  • Support continuous optimization of document review pipelines.

Must-Haves (Required)

  • Background in medical record review or clinical/healthcare experience (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, medical claims reviewer).
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, documentation formats, and clinical workflows.
  • Excellent written English communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify clinical inconsistencies and missing information.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working with AI-assisted tools and digital documentation systems.
  • Strong analytical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Dependable, proactive, and communicative.
  • Commitment to long-term growth within the organization.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred)

  • Experience creating medical chronologies or working with legal-medical records.
  • Background in health information management or medical coding.
