HK Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team remotely. As a Medical Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient coding of medical records for our diverse client base. Your primary responsibility will be to translate healthcare diagnoses, procedures, and services into universally recognized alphanumeric codes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while providing the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze medical records, charts, and documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Ensure that all coding is done accurately and in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to clarify any discrepancies in medical documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices, guidelines, and changes in healthcare regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits of coding practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit coding reports as required by management.
  • Address coding-related queries and provide guidance to internal teams and external clients.
  • Continuously improve coding efficiency and accuracy through ongoing education and training.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Experience working with various medical specialties is a plus.
  • Proven track record of maintaining high coding accuracy and productivity.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position with flexible working hours.
  • Core hours of availability to be discussed, with the ability to manage and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
