Position Description:

We are seeking experienced Live Meeting Transcriptionists to attend virtual meetings and provide accurate, timely transcription services. This role requires exceptional stenography skills, fast and accurate typing, and the ability to deliver professional transcripts within tight deadlines. You will create either verbatim transcripts or meeting summaries based on specific project requirements.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Join virtual meetings promptly between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST as scheduled for a part-time shift

  • Accurately transcribe live meetings in real-time using stenography or advanced typing skills
  • Capture meeting content as directed by the meeting lead, which may include:
    • Verbatim transcripts - Word-for-word documentation including actions and gestures
    • Meeting summaries - Concise overviews of key discussion points and decisions
  • Deliver correct, clear, and professionally formatted transcripts within 24-hour turnaround from meeting completion
  • Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and clarity
  • Ensure all transcripts meet quality standards and project specifications
  • Maintain high attention to detail throughout the transcription process
  • Verify accuracy of names, technical terms, and specialized vocabulary
  • Ensure confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive meeting content
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines

Requirements:

  • Stenographer experience preferred

  • Transcription certification preferred (e.g., TCI, CET, CER, CDR, or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of experience in live meeting transcription or professional note-taking
  • Proven fast and accurate typing skills: 80-90 WPM minimum
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace/Suite (Docs, Drive, Meet, etc.)
  • Comfortable with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
  • Native English proficiency (written and oral)
  • Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and vocabulary
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to understand and accurately transcribe diverse accents and speaking styles
  • Self-driven and independent - able to work with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Reliable and punctual - able to join meetings on time
  • Flexible availability between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST
  • Able to commit to 10-20 hours per week (10 hours guaranteed minimum)
  • Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace for virtual meetings
