Position Overview The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with the various business licenses and permits for all the locations throughout the country. To be successful in this role, you should have exceptional organizational skills, a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, good analytic skills and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include renewal of licenses/permits for existing stores and the applications for licenses/permits for new and relocated stores. A Day in the Life Apply for licenses/permits and verify everything is renewed or applied for timely and accurately. Field all calls from the stores, taxing authorities and inspectors for any license or permit issues. Review the monthly file and calendar to ensure accuracy. Ensure License HQ and the Lucernex systems are updated and that all stores receive and post the licenses in a timely manner. Update management weekly on the status of the renewals and applications Communication with the various taxing authorities to validate that Burlington is following all the rules and regulations related to licenses and permits. Research the laws for the various states, counties, and cities license/permit requirements for all new stores. This includes the preparation of the new and renewal license applications, calculation of the fees, payments made either by check or credit card and ensure all documentation is attached. Interaction with the various internal groups such as Construction, Real Estate, Lease Administration, and Facilities Departments to ensure all new and relocated stores are identified and all information is accurate for the locations. Request information from others when needed and ensure the information is received in a timely manner. Team up with the Accounts Payable department to confirm all check requests submitted are accurate. Ensure tax compliance for the organization in the license and permit area. Interact with internal departments across the organization. External interaction with taxing authorities, inspectors, and auditors. Accuracy and diligence are needed to ensure the proper amount of the organization’s license liability. Timeliness and professional handling of issues and represent the organization in a professional manner. You'll Come With 1-3 years of relevant experience Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Knowledge of G/L Financial Systems Business License knowledge, including compliance, research, processes and procedures Solid analysis, research, attention to detail and accuracy Effective time management – manages multiple tasks; organized; on top of time sensitive tasks Handles transactions with taxing authorities professionally and efficiently. #LI-CG1 Come join our team.
