The Town’s Human Resources Department, on behalf of the Municipal Maintenance Department, is accepting applications for the full-time position of Laborer. This is a forty (40) hour a week position which requires mandatory on-call and has overtime opportunities (voluntary overtime up to 2 hours a day and 8 hours on Saturday). The schedule is Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Salary and a generous benefits package which includes health insurance premiums paid at 68%, dental premiums paid at 75%, paid time off, boot allowance, etc. are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Unit agreement currently in effect. Education: High School Graduate or the equivalent training and experience. Knowledge of CORELL (sign) software is desirable.

Requirements: Applicants are required to do heavy physical labor efficiently such as loading and unloading stone, gravel, etc. The job involves heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching. Will perform tasks in connection with the maintenance and construction of sidewalks, streets and parks, as well as, street sweeping, shoveling snow and mowing lawns. Will also assist in plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs. Will work in all weather conditions. Subject to CORI/SORI, RMV check, pre-employment physical and drug test.
