About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Product and Engineering finance, Atlassian is seeking a seasoned leader to build and lead the finance team to drive financial strategy and influence decision-making for the Teamwork Collection of products in partnership with executive leadership, ensuring that the portfolio’s financial goals and performance align with Atlassian’s strategic vision.

This is a business-critical role that works in close partnership with the executive team and their organizations. You will provide critical thought leadership to cross functional executives across Product, Engineering, Finance and Sales. You will also build and lead a team of  finance professionals to develop and communicate Atlassian’s financial priorities and strategies to drive profitable growth across its portfolio of businesses.

Atlassian is currently on path to transform and scale through $10 billion in revenue and achieve sustained GAAP profitably. This role will be crucial in achieving these important milestones across our Work management business portfolio, as well as our three company-level transformations - Enterprise Cloud, AI & System of Work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive financial strategy and influence decision-making and business performance in close partnership with executive leadership, other senior stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Finance, Sales functions.

  • Communicate  financial strategy, priorities, and rationale broadly across the Teamwork Collection of products and bring it to life through integrated end-to-end financial planning and decision making.  

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to evaluate financial performance and related strategic initiatives and investments to drive long term topline and bottomline improvement across Teamwork Collection of products.

  • Monitor market trends and developments for benchmarks and insights used to guide business planning. 

  • Play a leadership role in shaping the long-term strategy for Teamwork Collection of products  and then work with leaders to implement and build and scale the business.

  • Model, Coach and Care for diverse, inclusive individuals in a high performance team.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions overseeing strategic finance roles that partner closely with R&D and sales and marketing leaders.

  • Demonstrated history driving company financial performance and strategic decision-making at global scale.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills and the ability to simplify complexity in fast-paced dynamic environments.

  • Experience providing thought leadership and compelling recommendations to executive leadership teams that drive better business results.

  • Strategic operational skills, the ability to maintain a focus on the broader picture, while seamlessly transitioning into the details on execution.

  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of attracting great talent and building and developing high-performing distributed teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative financial field (Finance, Accounting, Economics), MBA is a plus

  • Prior experience in the technology industry required, Cloud/SaaS is a strong plus

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $164,700 - $215,025

Zone B: $148,500 - $193,875

Zone C: $136,800 - $178,600

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
