The Global Communications Manager is responsible for driving strategic communications across business units while ensuring the company’s global workforce has access to timely, relevant, and engaging information. This role manages communication support for Western Union’s business units, develops compelling messaging and partners with leaders worldwide to support key initiatives and enhance the digital employee experience. Role Responsibilities Business Unit Communications Partner with business unit leaders to develop and execute communication strategies aligned with business objectives Create compelling content including announcements, presentations, newsletters, talking points, and executive messages Support product launches, organizational changes, and strategic initiatives with tailored communication plans Serve as a communications advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on messaging, timing, and channel selection Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across functions, teams, and global regions Intranet Content Management Partner with teammates to manage daily intranet content operations, Ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to brand and editorial standards Develop and maintain content governance frameworks and editorial guidelines Collaborate with content owners across the organization to keep information fresh and relevant Monitor analytics and user behavior to improve content performance and engagement Content Strategy & Development Write, edit and produce engaging content for diverse global audiences Translate complex business information into clear, accessible messaging Create multimedia communications including articles, videos, infographics and interactive features Maintain a content calendar and coordinate publishing schedules across channels Ensure all content follows inclusive language and accessibility best practices Digital Employee Experience Enhance intranet user experience by improving navigation, organization and overall usability Identify opportunities to improve information findability and drive employee engagement Partner with IT and digital teams to develop platform enhancements and new features Stay current with digital communication trends, technologies, and best practices Support change management efforts related to intranet updates and new digital tools Measurement & Continuous Improvement Track and analyze communication performance metrics such as page views, engagement rates, and user feedback Conduct regular content audits and manage content lifecycle, including archiving Gather employee insights to inform communication strategy and improvements Prepare reports on communication effectiveness and share recommendations with stakeholders Role Requirements Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field 5–7 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, public relations, or market research Experience partnering with senior leaders and advising on communication strategies Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics Experience managing intranet platforms, digital communication tools, or employee engagement technologies Ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams Strong project management skills and attention to detail Familiarity with analytics tools and data-driven communication practices Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive communication principles We make financial services accessible to humans everywhere. Salary The base salary range is $125,000 to $150,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
