OVERVIEW Full-time/Permanent Employee Location: Remote EXPANSIA is seeking a Database Administrator who will be a part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) team. NCAPS is a consolidation of current applications to standardize NASA’s IT systems and applications to include general IT, customer support, information management, mission support systems. Bring your expertise to this Agile arenaflex/CD team to safeguard NASA’s Enterprise. As a Database Administrator III, you will be responsible for support of database systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Enterprise network with multiple types of servers and server applications. You will implement, optimize, and maintain database systems to ensure seamless business operations, security, and efficiency. You will manage database performance through index tuning, backup recovery, and integration while enforcing security controls and data integrity. Your role includes developing stored procedures, formulating policies, and overseeing database administration tasks such as scheduling backups, managing replication, and monitoring transaction activity. You will support database designers and analysts in developing SQL and web-based databases, reviewing technical designs, and implementing high-level reporting systems. Working in a dynamic, fast paced environment that will require team interaction and coordination of efforts, you will regularly interface with both client managers and system users. The proposed salary range for this position is $104,750 – $112,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for database server administration functions supporting a global Active Directory infrastructure in a mixed environment • Provide database administration (DBA) support services, to include Tier 2 level expertise, as well as the planning, implementation, and monitoring of patching services for physical and virtual solutions • Implement and maintain database operations, ensuring system performance, integrity, and security • Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases to optimize efficiency and scalability • Review database design and system integration, providing recommendations for improvements • Perform backup recovery and enforce security and integrity controls • Develop and implement database policies, procedures, and standards • Monitor database transactions, utilization, and overall system performance • Create and manage stored procedures, triggers, and reporting systems using tools such as Crystal Reports • Administer and manage database systems, including arenaflex SQL Server and other DBMS • Audit, modify, and update database records using SQL commands • Oversee database project scheduling, transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication across multiple SQL Servers and remote sites • Assist in the development and creation of SQL and web-based databases • Review technical documentation, reports, and system designs to ensure accuracy and compliance • Research and implement new database technologies to improve system efficiency and security • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area • Participate in growth efforts as requested • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer’s satisfaction • Complete personal PDP and attend staff meetings and Storytime (with the camera on) • Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements • Perform other related duties as assigned KEY QUALIFICATIONS • Clearance: Active Public Trust • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 5 – 7 years of experience, or a Master’s with 3 – 5 years of experience • Oracle, MySQL, or arenaflex SQL Certification • CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater) • Depth of knowledge and experience in major relational database systems, languages, and applications, such as arenaflex Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, Oracle, and MySQL • Must demonstrate the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation, and have the ability to work as part of a team • Proficiency in SQL commands, stored procedures, and database optimization techniques • Strong understanding of database security, integrity, and backup recovery processes • Ability to troubleshoot and independently solve complex technical database challenges • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS • ITIL v3 – Foundation • SAFE Team certification • arenaflex Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) • Oracle (OCP, OCA) or MySQL Database Certification • Automation using arenaflex PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs • Experience working in VmWareESXi environments • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS) • Experience with enterprise backup solutions EXPANSIA is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities Apply tot his job
