The Director of Web Engineering will lead the architecture, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance digital platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader with deep experience in full-stack development, mobile technologies, and cross-platform systems integration.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive the technical vision and execution strategy for web, content management, and personalization platforms, ensuring stability, scalability, and modern best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow teams of front-end, back-end, and platform engineers across multiple agile workstreams.
  • Establish engineering standards, development processes, and quality practices across web initiatives.
  • Drive architectural decisions that align with enterprise platforms and long-term technology goals.
  • Ensure high availability, performance optimization, security, and observability in all digital products.
  • Partner with infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to improve CI/CD, monitoring, release, and compliance processes.
  • Evaluate and integrate modern technologies, tools, and processes that improve team velocity, application performance, and developer experience.
  • Collaborate with business, product, and design leaders to translate requirements into efficient technical solutions—without owning but influencing product strategy.
  • Manage third-party technology partnerships, platforms, and service providers for technical fit and performance.
  • Engage with and influence the feature roadmap of other vendors and service providers. Share our vision and drive product roadmap in our favor.  Influence and engage vendors and service providers for feature roadmaps to drive
  • Engage with and influence internal sourcing and licensing discussions to drive optimal licensing costs and uses.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 12 years of related work experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, to ensure effective growth and development of team
  • A visionary who motivates teams to excel and fosters creativity, consistently driving excellence in all endeavors
  • Proven record of vendor and service provider negotiations especially on technology features and roadmaps.
  • Proven record of implementing AI tools and practices along with process modifications to achieve productivity and efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of Content Management systems, Personalization platforms, and full stack web development including Google Core Vitals.
  • Strong architectural understanding building products that use best of the breed products integrating with internal systems to avoid vendor lock-in.
  • An advocate for a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages innovation and ensures every team member feels a sense of belonging

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Expertise in modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Astro, Adobe Experience Manager etc.) and Content Management Systems like django, Tridion etc.
  • Expertise in personalization and messaging frameworks such as Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer etc.
  • Strong experience in language translation and localization technologies such as Google Translate, Neural Machine Translation etc
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Proven ability to lead complex engineering initiatives with clear delivery accountability.
  • Strong background in system design, performance optimization, and large-scale deployment.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
