THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Contracts Specialist at Brisk Teaching, you'll play a key role in supporting our Sales and Customer Success teams by keeping contracts moving efficiently and thoughtfully from review to signature. You'll work hands-on with a wide range of commercial agreements—primarily involving public school and district customers—and partner closely with internal stakeholders while engaging directly on contract-related questions as deals progress. This is a unique opportunity to support a fast-growing, mission-driven edtech company where your work helps enable customer relationships, protect the business, and support long-term customer success.

YOU WILL:

  • Support Sales and Customer Success by managing contract review and negotiation throughout the deal cycle

  • Conduct first-pass legal reviews of commercial agreements, including service agreements, data privacy agreements, vendor agreements, RFPs, and related contractual terms

  • Redline, negotiate, and coordinate contract execution in partnership with Sales, Customer Success, and other internal stakeholders

  • Balance legal and operational risk with business needs to support efficient, scalable deal execution

  • Respond to time-sensitive, urgent requests and contract-related questions from Sales, Customer Success, and customers during active negotiations

  • Provide guidance on non-standard or complex deal terms and identify when escalation is required

  • Track contract status, key terms, and exceptions to support efficient deal flow

YOU HAVE:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in contracts or commercial legal support

  • Ideally at least 3 years of in-house experience supporting a SaaS or technology company

  • Strong contract management skills, including experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements

  • Availability to work 10–20 hours per week for 4 months (contract may be extended longer depending on need)

  • Flexibility to maintain regular availability during overlapping U.S. business hours (approximately 10am–3pm PT)

  • Familiarity with data privacy and security concepts relevant to SaaS transactions, including AI-related considerations

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple contracts in parallel, and balance speed with risk awareness

BONUS:

  • Legal Education - JD, Paralegal, or equivalent

  • Experience supporting education, public sector, or other regulated customers

  • Prior experience working closely with Sales and Customer Success teams
