The Team
The North Shore Admin team is an established group who work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals, including social workers, clinicians, psychiatrists, caregivers, and other members of the administrative team. This team operates across several service delivery areas such as Family Services, Intake, and Guardianship. Close collaboration with probation officers, team leaders, and other public service staff is essential to ensure comprehensive support for vulnerable children and families. Additionally, the team plays a critical role in supporting services for Indigenous communities and must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity in their work.

The Role
This role provides vital program support and general administrative assistance within the children and families office. Responsibilities include managing client intake, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing financial components related to various social service programs such as mental health, child protection, and adoption. The position serves as a key communication link between service providers, community organizations, and public agencies, ensuring seamless coordination and support. With a strong focus on office efficiency, the role helps uphold the quality and responsiveness of services offered to children and families in need.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Six months of administrative support experience in an office environment.
  • Six months’ experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel, Outlook, Lync) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
  • Six months' experience providing quality customer or client service, working independently and as a team member, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Three months administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
  • Three months experience using applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.
