Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen operations and a flair for creativity in food preparation. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role requires a commitment to excellence in culinary skills, food handling, and the ability to work collaboratively within a restaurant or catering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards.
  • Develop and execute innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Manage food preparation processes, including cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
  • Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen efficiency.
  • Assist with providing exceptional service and meal preparation for various occasions.
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and assist in ordering ingredients as needed.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or catering setting is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling practices, and kitchen equipment.
  • Experience in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary requirements is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • A culinary degree or certification is an asset but not mandatory; passion for cooking is key.
