Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.</p><p><b>Your New Role...</b></p><p>Cloud Playout Systems Engineer is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of Cloud and On-premises broadcast playout at Origination Centers. The Cloud Playout System Engineers are at the forefront of Cloud and related IT technologies, interacting with the full breadth of AWS services. Engineers will be responsible for ensuring operational continuity of all global broadcast feeds, uptime for related infrastructure equipment which includes completing detailed tasks assigned.</p><p><b>Your Role Accountabilities...</b></p><ul><li>Provide technical support of Cloud infrastructure for Global Playout Services.</li><li>Provide extensive support of multi-channel playout automation systems, components, and Media workflows, with the ability to quickly execute troubleshooting procedures.</li><li>Understanding IP Network and Ethernet connectivity, including TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, VLANs, and multicast protocols.</li><li>Monitoring & Control system configuration and support to maintain a stable, reliable on-air product.</li><li>Understanding of signal routing control systems to route video/audio and Video-over-IP signals.</li><li>Experience working with utilizing Network Management Systems (NMS), SNMP MIBs, OIDs, traps.</li><li>Ability to support multiple server types to configure/troubleshoot: Windows/Linux workstation/server applications, operating systems, and hardware components.</li><li>Creation and use of standard operating procedures, technical reference documents and drawings.</li><li>Work closely with vendors and/or internal departments for optimal hardware/software configuration and support.</li><li>Ensure service levels are met by monitoring and updating incident tracking system/s for timely resolution of critical issues.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications & Experiences...</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or similar technical field and/or equivalent practical experience.</li><li>Minimum three years of experience as a hands-on IT engineer in a cloud-based broadcast, post-production, or other operational environment.</li><li>Deep understanding of networking, Cloud-based network environments, Cloud computing and Virtual machines (VMs).</li><li>Deep understanding of Windows and Linux servers and/or workstations.</li><li>Experience with Linux, Windows OS, virtual and public and/or private cloud environments and knowledge of basic network troubleshooting using ubiquitous OS tools.</li><li>Understanding of SMPTE 2022-7, SMPTE 2110, NDI, RTP, SCTE, CC 708/608, Dolby AC3 standards, and Transport Streams.</li><li>Working knowledge of remote support tools.</li><li>Ability to work any shift schedule - Work at any time in a 24 X 7 staffed environment including weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and proficiency in establishing priorities with multiple projects under tight deadlines.</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually with minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to adapt quickly to new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and online resources with minimal training.</li><li>Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment and maintain superior customer service demeanor.</li></ul><p>Other requirements:</p><ul><li>Intermediate to advanced level Networking, SAN, and/or other relevant training courses a plus</li><li>Knowledge of networking, firewalls, routers, Active Directory & load balancers.</li><li>Working knowledge of MPEG-4 encoders, MPEG Transport Stream analyzers and satellite transmission equipment</li><li>Preferred IT certification ex. CCNA, MCP, CompTIA A+/Network+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, VMware Associate or equivalent are also a plus.</li><li>Preferred understanding of broadcast automation systems.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of serial digital broadcast equipment and measurement equipment.</li></ul><p><br>* This position is considered an “essential position”.
