Job Summary

Reporting to the Director or Manager, In-Flight Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of Porter passengers while consistently delivering our brand promise of Flying Refined. Home base location and fleet type (Toronto Pearson YYZ or Toronto Billy Bishop YTZ) will be assigned by the company based on operational needs.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of all passengers

  • Effortlessly deliver friendly and attentive service to maintain passenger comfort

  • Adhere to trained Standard Operating Procedures consistent with Transport Canada and Porter policies

  • Required to perform the physical duties of a flight attendant, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and assisting passengers during emergencies
  • Tactfully manage unforeseen operational and passenger situations

  • Actively monitor the general condition of the aircraft cabin and adjust accordingly to maintain passenger safety and/or improve the passenger experience

  • Exemplify the Porter Values

  • Adhere to Porter's uniform and grooming standards at all times

  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with team members

  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply, and promote the Company Safety Policy

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current, valid Canadian Passport, or a current, valid International Passport with a current US Crewmember Visa (C-1/D)
  • Minimum of 19 years of age at time of employment
  • Completion of secondary school
  • Fluency in English and French is mandatory
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience working with the public in a customer service role
  • Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and successfully complete the company background screening process
  • Ability to meet the required medical standards (including alcohol and drug tests) and all physical requirements of the position 
  • Must successfully complete a 5-6 week full-time training program with 100% attendance and passing all written and practical assessments
  • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a safety-sensitive mindset and ability to work unsupervised
  • Must be able to work on a rotating reserve schedule that includes weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnights. (schedules and days off are awarded based on seniority through an online bidding system). 
  • Must be prepared to report to the assigned home base airport within two hours' notice for flying duties
