<p>Job Description:</p><p></p><p><b>Our Opportunity</b></p><p>Chewy is seeking an enterprise-minded Associate Director, Maintenance & Reliability to lead fulfillment center maintenance execution end-to-end across our network. This leader is accountable for setting strategy, prioritizing initiatives, and delivering results across safety, reliability, cost, and talent outcomes. The Associate Director leads through Regional Maintenance Managers (East/West) and partners closely with stakeholders to ensure long-term building health and maintenance execution are fully aligned.</p><p></p><p><b>Reporting & Scope</b></p><ul><li>Owns all FC maintenance execution across the network</li><li>Leads: Regional Maintenance Managers (East/West) who drive regional cadence and cross-site improvement and Sr. Real Estate Program Manager to unify facility asset programs with maintenance execution.</li><li>Requires proficiency in both MHE/automation and base building.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Do</b></p><p></p><p><b>Enterprise Strategy & Network Execution</b></p><ul><li>Set the vision, strategy, and network-wide priorities for maintenance execution, ensuring alignment to operational goals and capacity needs.</li><li>Own overall network performance (safety, reliability, cost, and people) and ensure clear accountability through RMMs and site leaders.</li><li>Establish network operating mechanisms and corrective-action governance.</li></ul><p><b>Leadership & Organization Development (Core)</b></p><ul><li>Build and lead a high-performing leadership team: coach and develop RMMs, shape expectations, and ensure consistent people leadership across the network.</li><li>Own talent strategy: succession planning, leadership capability building, calibration, and ensuring the right leaders are in the right roles.</li></ul><p><b>Operational Excellence & Standardization</b></p><ul><li>Drive best-in-class maintenance execution: planning/scheduling rigor, preventive maintenance strategy, defect elimination, and common standards.</li><li>Ensure strong escalation pathways and rapid decision-making for complex issues impacting uptime and safety.</li></ul><p><b>Financial & Asset Stewardship</b></p><ul><li>Own network maintenance financial performance, balancing cost, risk, and reliability outcomes.</li><li>Integrate facility asset programs and long-term building health through aligned partnership and oversight of the Sr. Real Estate Program Manager.</li></ul><p><b>Cross-Functional Influence</b></p><ul><li>Serve as the primary maintenance execution partner for Operations and enterprise stakeholders</li></ul><p><b>What You’ll Need</b></p><ul><li>10+ years of progressive experience in maintenance/reliability or industrial operations, including multi-site leadership; 3+ years in a senior leadership role preferred.</li><li>Strong executive leadership skills: setting strategy, driving alignment, influencing at senior levels, and delivering through leaders.</li><li>Deep functional understanding of:<ul><li>Automation/MHE systems and reliability practices</li><li>Base building systems and asset lifecycle fundamentals</li></ul></li><li>Proven ability to build talent pipelines and high-accountability cultures across distributed teams.</li><li>Willingness to travel regularly across the fulfillment network (anticipated 40%, based on needs).</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Why You’ll Love This Role</b></p><p>You’ll own the strategy <i>and</i> execution model for FC maintenance across the network, building a leadership system that improves consistency, develops talent, and raises the performance bar across every building.</p><p></p><p>Chewy is an equal opportunity employer.
