Beacon Gardens at Osterville is a highly successful retail and wholesale nursery located in Osterville, Massachusetts, serving homeowners, landscapers, designers, and contractors throughout the region. We are seeking an experienced, motivated Annual & Perennial Manager to lead one of the most dynamic departments in our operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in plant quality, and excels at team management and customer service.

Position Overview:

The Annual & Perennial Manager is responsible for the overall success of the annuals and perennials department, including purchasing, plant health and maintenance, staff supervision, logistics coordination, and customer relations. Spring and summer are extremely busy seasons, and the right candidate must be quick-thinking, organized, and able to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order annuals and perennials for both retail and wholesale customers
  • Maintain high standards of plant health, including watering schedules and general care
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing plant shipments and coordinate with delivery trucks
  • Manage, train, and motivate a seasonal and year-round team
  • Provide excellent customer service to retail and wholesale clients
  • Communicate effectively with ownership, staff, vendors, and customers
  • Maintain organized inventory and assist with pricing and merchandising
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly during peak season and keep operations running smoothly

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a nursery, garden center, or horticultural operation is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of annuals and perennials
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
